 I would receive my marching orders moments later.

The president will be landing in this field in less than four hours.

I just confirmed this with the Mexican groundskeeper.  Now I'm just trying to spot one secret service agent.  Maybe the groundskeeper was one.

These are Aspen trees.  They are this color from late September to mid-October.

 

Panum Crater

Last erupted around 1500.  It is bordered to the north by Mono Lake, and a whole lot of desert to the south.  If you like obsidian, you will find plenty of it here.  If you like to heckle deer, that can be done here also.

 

Mono Lake

Mark Twain called Mono Lake the Dead Sea of California.  It is 70 square miles.  You won't find one fish.  You will find tufa.
